3 – Oatmeal recipes

The following oatmeal recipes are meant to give you an idea of ​​the numerous uses that oats offers. Not all recipes use oatmeal (coarsely ground oat grains). In some it concerns oatmeal, which you can easily make yourself by further grinding oatmeal with for example a food processor. Of course you can also choose to buy a loose bag of oatmeal in the supermarket.

  • Porridge

We call the porridge here anyway, because it is such a basic recipe. Bring about 200 ml of water, milk or vegetable milk to the boil, stir in 50 grams of oatmeal and let it thicken for a moment. Then make the whole thing to taste with fruit, honey, cocoa, coconut and everything else that you will find!

  • Oat bars

Purée 175 grams dates, add 100 grams of oatmeal, and mix with 2 tablespoons honey, 50 ml water and 2 tbsp. olive oil or melted coconut oil. Add 50 grams of finely chopped hazelnuts and some coconut grater and mix well together with a hand blender.

Spread the mixture in a baking tin with parchment paper, press the oat strips well to about 2 cm high. Put the mixture in the fridge for about 2 hours and then cut nice bars.

  • Oatmeal muesli

Mix 160 grams oatmeal, 40 grams finely chopped nuts and seeds, 1 tsp. cinnamon and a pinch of salt mixed together. Melt 1 tbsp. coconut oil and mix it with 2 tbsp. maple syrup and 2 tbsp. water, and stir in the oat mixture.

Spread out on a baking sheet, and bake at 150 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes (keep an eye on the oven, ovens may differ). Allow to cool down, mix with dried fruits, coconut shavings, cocoa nibs and other ingredients, and mix!
